On the morning of October 26, the donation ceremony for the "Qihang Scholarship" of the College of International Languages and Cultures of Hohai University was held on the Xikang Road Campus. The ceremony was attended by Guo Hang, a 2014 alumnus of the English major; alumni representatives Yi Mengcheng and Guo Yao; Da Xuejun, Party Committee Secretary of the College of International Languages and Cultures of Hohai University; and Li Wei, Deputy Director of the Department of Domestic Cooperation and Development and Deputy Director of the Education Foundation Office of Hohai University. The event was hosted by Wang Lu, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice Dean of the College.

In his address on behalf of the College, Da Xuejun expressed sincere gratitude to alumnus Guo Hang for his generous contribution. He noted that by establishing the scholarship named "Qihang" (Setting Sail), Guo Hang has demonstrated a deep bond with his alma mater, showing strong approval of the College's educational mission and setting an inspiring example of gratitude and social responsibility for current students. The scholarship will provide stronger support for students to pursue their dreams as the College advances its "New Liberal Arts" initiative, carry forward the Hohai spirit of shared responsibility for the world's challenges, and encourage them to strive forward in life. The College will ensure strict fund management, transparent selection procedures, and precise disbursement of awards, thereby making the "Qihang Scholarship" a solid foundation for students' aspirations and ensuring every act of kindness translates into tangible educational outcomes.

Alumnus Guo Hang shared memories of his campus life, reflecting on his academic journey and career path. He stated that the College's dedication to student development and its ongoing support for graduates have been a constant source of motivation, and he hoped this modest contribution could light the way for students of the College as they set sail toward their dreams.

Deputy Director Li Wei presented Guo Hang with a donation certificate and a commemorative plaque. Attendees then engaged in discussions and took a group photo.

The College will take the establishment of the "Qihang Scholarship" as an opportunity to further refine its talent development framework, strengthen alumni engagement, and expand collaboration with the wider community. It is believed that, inspired by this scholarship, more foreign language students will grow into pillars of society who possess both professional competence and a grateful heart, contributing their wisdom and strength to the university's "Double FirstClass" initiative and the nation's global engagement efforts.
