On January 21, 2026, a delegation led by Professor Zhang Hairong, Dean of the College of International Languages and Cultures of Hohai University, attended the Morocco–China Economic and Cultural Council held at Xianlin Campus, Nanjing University. The event, hosted by the Institute of African Studies, Nanjing University, brought together representatives from the Jiangsu Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, the Provincial Department of Education, several universities, and research institutes, with the aim of strengthening economic and cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and Morocco.
During the exchange session, Dean Zhang Hairong introduced to Mr. Khalid El Fataoui, President of the Morocco–China Economic and Cultural Council, the subject characteristics, faculty strengths, and international development strategy of the College of International Languages and Cultures of Hohai University. She formally expressed the College's interest in establishing cooperative ties with Moroccan universities and cultural institutions. The proposed collaboration would focus on language teaching, academic research, and faculty–student exchanges, aiming to build a sustainable platform for ongoing dialogue.
This participation not only demonstrated the College's active role in expanding global partnerships, but also laid important groundwork for the College to deepen its regional expertise on Africa and further develop its international educational initiatives.
